A custom coffered ceiling is built from a grid of beams and moulding that creates a series of recessed panels overhead. We start with an in-home measurement of your ceiling height, span, and existing trim, then design a grid layout sized specifically to that room — not a stock kit forced to fit.

From there we handle the full install: framing the grid, installing trim and moulding, finishing in paint or stain, and adding integrated recessed or accent lighting if you want it. Materials are selected for Southern Utah's dry climate, so the finished ceiling holds its lines instead of cracking at the seams a year or two in.

Southern Utah's dry air is hard on wood. Summer humidity often sits in the single digits, and homes swing between high-desert heat outside and constant AC inside. Lumber that isn't acclimated before install shrinks after it goes up. That leaves open miter joints, cracked caulk lines and gaps where beams meet drywall. We let materials acclimate in your home before building and use joinery and finishes that hold up to the dry climate.

Ceiling height matters too. Many newer homes in Desert Color, Little Valley and Stone Cliff have 10 to 12 foot great rooms and vaulted spaces. Those rooms need deeper beams and a bigger grid so the ceiling looks proportional instead of busy. Wiring for recessed lights, sconce lighting and ceiling fans gets planned into the layout before a single beam goes up.
